In maintaining the strong relations and cooperation with the Australian universities, Her Excellency Mrs. Rawdha Almansoori, the Cultural Attaché of the UAE and her team visited the University of Sydney. The Cultural Attaché delegation met with university officials, Tania Rhodes-Taylor, Vice-Principal, External Relations, Kaveh Ghezel, Head of International Recruitment at the University and Jacquie Hargreaves, the deputy Principal at Taylors college.
During the meetings, Mrs. Rawdha Al Mansoori proposed the signing off a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Education and the universities to allocate seats in scientific disciplines for UAE students every year. The universities welcomed the initiative and expressed their willingness to work closely with the Cultural Attaché and strengthen the relations.
The Cultural Attaché took the lead and introduced the UAE Teachers Training Program for discussion. As result the universities expressed their willingness to cooperate with the Ministry of Education to train UAE teachers according to the requirements of the Ministry.
The meetings focused on the importance of engaging the UAE students in the cultural activities held by the universities. This will encourage the students to get engaged in the various activities and introduce the Emirati culture to the other. In return the universities expressed their interest in such activities and will support the UAE Students participations.
Her Excellency concluded the University of Sydney meeting by presenting the Cultural Attaché honorary shield to the Vice President, Foreign Relations. The Cultural Attaché delegation thanked the universities for their hospitality.
The Cultural Attaché and the delegation also visited The University of New South Wales, where they met with officials from the University and the UNSW Global Institute. The academic progress of the students were reviewed, and the ‘niversity assured to provide the maximum support   and services to the UAE students.
