In the interest of supporting the relations with the universities and academic institutions in Australia, Her Excellency Mrs. Rawdha Al-Mansouri, The Cultural Attaché and The Cultural Attaché work team, have welcomed the delegation of Monash University at the Cultural Attaché office.
The delegation was represented by Prof. Abid Khan, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Global Engagement), Dr. Nizar Farjou, Associate President-Middle East, North Africa & Central Asia, Ms. Joanna Donagan, Director, Global Initiatives, (Global Engagement) and Mr. Joe De Pasquale, Manager - Government and Scholarship Engagement.
The meeting commenced by Her Excellency Mrs. Al-Mansouri addressing the existing cooperation between the University and the Cultural Attaché.
On the cooperation side the delegation announced the opening of a representing office for Monash University in the UAE to build new connections with UAE educational and governmental institutions.
Her Excellency Al-Mansouri proposed signing a memorandum of understanding between the University and the Ministry of Education to allocate positions for the UAE students to study scientific disciplines. Monash University delegation showed a great interest by welcoming the proposal.
In Addition, the meeting has discussed an initiative to train UAE teachers at Monash University and to be further formatted at a later stage between the two parties.
The academic conditions of UAE students at the university were discussed and the students were assured of the best services available at the university.
At the end of the meeting, on behalf of the delegation Prof. Abid Khan thanked Her Excellency Mrs. Al-Mansouri and the Cultural Attaché work team for the warm reception and hospitality.
