In line with the continuous efforts of the UAE Cultural Office to provide the best services to the UAE students studying in Australia, the Cultural Attaché, Mrs Rawda Al Mansouri, signed the new agreement with the health insurance company, nib, in the meeting held at the UAE Cultural Office on Wednesday 03/05/2017. The terms of the agreement have been reviewed and some articles were modified to benefit the UAE students covered by the service.
The meeting was held with Mr David Kan, Director of International Relations, and Mrs Catherine McHugh, Administration Manager - International Students. The company provides a tailor-made health insurance product for UAE students. It offers them a distinguished health insurance service to reimburse all expenses of doctors’ visits, hospitals and medication. It covers specific limits for dental, medical and physiotherapy at competitive prices in the Australian market. Under the new contract, it has been agreed to improve these services by increasing the cover limit for medical glasses from $300 to $500 per annum, increasing the cover limit for physiotherapy from $150 to $300 per annum, in addition to waiving the waiting period for new subscribers, whereas the previous situation required the student to join the company for a certain period before receiving the compensation for preexisting medical cases. It has been agreed not to increase the agreed cost of health insurance price as a result of these adjustments in the insurance product.
