Based on the wise policy of His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his brothers, Their Excellencies the rulers of the Emirates, the plan of sending students by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research came to integrate the role of Emirates University, Zayed University and the Higher Colleges of Technology via sending United Arab Emirates students on scholarships for studying at universities and acquire higher education abroad.

Australia and New Zealand are among the common destinations for such students. Their numbers in Australia and New Zealand had exceeded 1000 students in various theoretical and applied fields. They came from various sponsoring bodies in UAE.
